Training Course Description:
Gamebooks are books where, at the end of each section, readers can choose which section to continue reading. This type of book is excellent for encouraging young people to write and is very effective for learning foreign languages. In this course, teachers will learn how to use gamebooks to develop students' writing and speaking skills in English, how such books are structured, the techniques used to write them, and why this combination of game and book works so well for foreign language learning. In addition, we’ll look into how to encourage young people to improve literacy skills in general.

Day 1: Understanding Game Books
Objectives
Understand what game books are and why they support language acquisition
Experience a game book from a learner’s perspective
Identify language skills naturally embedded in game book writing
Day 2: Story Structure, Choice, and Game Mechanics
Objectives
Learn how to structure branching narratives
Balance story, language load, and gameplay
Avoid common game book design problems
Day 3: Classroom Implementation & Student Support

Learn how to run a game-book writing project in class
Practice scaffolding, collaboration, and feedback strategies
